What this lesson shows
Fixes a mistake
A rectangle has 4 sides and 4 square corners. A square has those too, and all its sides match.
The worked example
The lesson works this one step by step: square (question 1). Then your kid tries one like it on paper.
The steps
- 4 straight sides
- 4 square corners
- That is a rectangle
- A square is one too
Helping at home
Read each box aloud. When the box asks for rectangles, squares count too: 4 sides and 4 square corners. Check corners with the corner of a sheet of paper.
If your kid gets stuck
4 sides and 4 square corners: a rectangle. Squares count.
Watch it with Lux
With Lux, this lesson is a narrated video and a printed page your kid works on. Then Lux helps with the same math on their own worksheet, one question at a time.
