Terms of Service

What we provide

Lux is a voice math teacher for kids in elementary school. It sees the worksheet through a camera, talks it through with the kid, and sends the parent a note after every session. This is a digital service. There are no physical goods, and nothing is shipped.

Who may subscribe

A parent or legal guardian, 18 or older, holds the account and the subscription. Kids use Lux under that parent’s account and with their consent. See our COPPA policy for how we handle children’s data.

Price

Lux is priced per kid. The first 100 kids to join pay $59 a month. That founding price stays for as long as the kid’s subscription stays active. If it is cancelled, the founding price ends with it. Every kid after the first 100 pays $79 a month. Every month includes 20 hours of live sessions.

If the regular price ever changes, we email you at least 30 days before it applies to you. A founding price does not change.

Billing

Lux is a recurring monthly subscription, processed by Stripe. You are billed each month on the date you started, for as long as the subscription is active. There is no setup fee and no minimum term. If a payment fails, we retry it and email you. Sessions pause if payment stays unresolved.

Cancellation

Cancel at any time, from your account or by emailing hello@learnwithlux.com. Cancelling stops the next renewal. Sessions keep working until the end of the month you have already paid for.

Refunds

We do not refund part of a cancelled month, because the service was available for that month. If we fail to deliver the service you paid for, through an outage, a billing error, or our own mistake, we refund that month in full. Email us and we will resolve it.

How Lux helps

Lux guides a kid to work out each answer: it asks questions, gives small hints, and checks each step. It is a learning aid, not a replacement for a teacher or a parent. It can make mistakes. Check anything that matters, and tell us when it gets something wrong.
